As a former wrestler, I have not been on the mat since 2019 when I had back surgery. Coach Matt enabled me to not only get rolling again, but to learn new skills that require careful instruction. No Limits allows me to learn grappling in a great environment. I definitely recommend checking this place out.

Christine Briggs

I’ve worked with Matt for many years as a grappler. He truly is an awesome coach to have in your corner. If you are looking to elevate yourself not only as a grappler but as a person and really take yourself to the next level, this is the right place for you.

Kyle Medrow

Matt is both a knowledgeable coach and great guy! Been at No Limits just over a year now and it has been a great option for me since finishing college wrestling. Matt makes learning Jiu Jitsu simple but engaging and helped me transition quickly into a new form of grappling.

Zane Gehman

Coach Matt is not only a highly skilled and knowledgeable instructor, but also incredibly passionate about jiu jitsu and his students. I am beyond grateful for the gym and training partners I have at NLG as they push me to be a better person on and off the mats.

Brian Medeiros

My whole experience so far at No Limits Grappling has been amazing!! Coach Matt is a great professional who strives in bringing the best out in each of his athletes. It really makes the whole learning jiu jitsu experience fun and challenging which should be exactly what to look for!!

Who is no-gi Jiu-Jitsu for?

our community.

At No Limits, we teach no-gi techniques that actually work in today’s grappling game—built on real training, not trends.

Our culture is built on what former athletes know best: hard work, shared goals, and pushing each other to be better. It’s the structure and purpose you’ve been missing since your playing days.

We created this gym for those who felt lost after sports—wrestlers, football players, and competitors who thrived in high-performance environments.

Here, the grind is familiar. The training is structured. The progress is real. And the people around you get it—because they’ve been there too.

You’ll know right away if this is your place. And if it is, you won’t just train. You’ll thrive.

Common Questions.

How is No-Gi Grappling different from traditional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?

No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu focuses on grappling without the traditional gi (kimono). Instead of gripping fabric, you’ll use body control, clinching, and wrestling-based techniques. This makes the pace faster and more dynamic, emphasizing positional control, submissions, and takedowns without relying on grips.

Is No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu good for self-defense?

No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is a sport, not a full self-defense system. While the techniques can translate to real-world situations, we do not train striking, weapon defense, or situational awareness which are key elements of a complete self-defense program. Our focus is on competition and skill development in a controlled sporting environment.

Do I need previous experience or a certain fitness level?

Not at all. We welcome complete beginners, and our coaching approach ensures that anyone, regardless of fitness level or experience, can start training safely and effectively.

Do you offer Gi training?

No, we are a No-Gi only academy. Our training is designed to maximize the effectiveness of No-Gi techniques, incorporating elements of wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and judo to create a well-rounded grappling game.

Is it an issue if I'm smaller or older?

Not at all! We work hard to ensure a safe and inclusive training environment for all sizes, ages, and experience levels. We also try to pair training partners appropriately to ensure a positive experience.

What should I wear to class?

Wear a rash guard or fitted athletic top and grappling shorts or spats without zippers or pockets. Avoid baggy clothing, as it can get in the way during training. Bring a water bottle, and if possible, flip-flops for off-mat areas.

How do I get started?

You can book a free trial class to see if No-Gi grappling is right for you. Just click here to get started.

How much does it cost to train?

We offer a monthly membership for $100, or a $10 drop-in fee if you just want to try a class. There are no long-term contracts, so you can train on your own terms.

What's the class schedule?

We have classes throughout the week fit your schedule. View the No Limits Grappling Schedule and find a time to book in your free introduction class!

Where can I park?

We have a large parking lot directly in front of the building, so you’ll have no trouble finding a spot.

Are there changing rooms or showers?

There are two locker rooms available for changing before and after class. At this time, we do not have showers on-site.

Can I train at other clubs too?

Absolutely! Cross-training is encouraged and visitors are always welcome. Our number one rule is simple: “Be cool.” Treat your training partners and the gym with respect.

What is expected from students in terms of etiquette?

Be respectful to your training partners and coaches.
Keep nails trimmed and maintain good hygiene.
Remove jewelry before training.
Always listen to your coaches and tap early when necessary to stay safe.
Be cool—treat your partners and the space with respect.
